Kodiak bairdi Tanner Crab Pot Application Period

 

 

 

            Beginning March 1, 2004, the Commercial Fisheries Entry Commission will be holding an application period for entry permits in the Kodiak bairdi Tanner crab pot fishery. The application deadline is September 1, 2004.

 

            Only individuals who commercially harvested bairdi Tanner crab using pot gear in the Kodiak management area as interim-use permit holders during at least one of  the years 1993, 1994, 2001 and 2002 are eligible to apply for permits.

 

            Applications forms are available by calling the commission at (907) 789-6160. Application forms are also available at the Alaska Department of Fish and Game office in Kodiak.

 

            Applications must be postmarked by September 1, 2004. This application period is a one time only opportunity to apply for a permanent permit. If applications are not submitted by the September 1, 2004 deadline, there will be no further opportunity to apply for a limited entry permit from the commission.

           

            The commission encourages eligible applicants to submit their applications as soon as possible. Anyone needing assistance in completing the application form is urged to contact the commission at (907) 789-6160 and ask for Dorothy or Jackie.
